I'm running to represent all people of the 24th District in the Virginia House of Delegates.
I'm a dad who sees that our community is being let down by its elected officials. I will help our community by making sure our schools have all the tools and resources they need to provide the best education. I will help expand access to health care and engage with our local farmers to make sure they have everything they need for sustainable farming to give us access to healthy local produce.
I am active in the effort to expand Internet access in Amherst County. In 2021 many students around the district still don't have access to the basic research tools and resources on the World Wide Web that people take for granted in bigger towns and cities. If elected I'll be working on this every day. (Our current 24th District delegate is the only member of the Virginia General Assembly-- Republican or Democrat-- to oppose expanding a program to increase broadband service to underserved areas.)
Legalized marijuana is coming to Virginia and we need to make sure that the 24th gets its share of the tax revenue and the harvesting opportunities for our farmers. I will do my part to help the 24th District get all the tools and resources it needs to make the most of this economic opportunity for our beautiful part of the Commonwealth. I'm talking about higher wages, increased home values and new small businesses. (Our current delegate, who voted against legalization, is not in a strong position to advocate for this.)
I have no other ambition but to help residents of the 24th get every advantage possible while bringing people together for the common good. For too long Richmond has ignored the needs of rural Virginia. I'm here to stand up for all the people of the 24th and make us all proud and prosperous from the Piedmont over the Blue Ridge into the great valley, and into the Appalachian ridge and valley to the West Virginia line.
